Day 01 – Arrive at Bengaluru

 

Extending a warm welcome to you upon arrival at the Bengaluru International Airport! The capital city of Karnataka, Bengaluru is known by many other names such as the Silicon Valley of India or the Garden City. It is renowned for the rich historical heritage of the place and the natural attractions. Complete your formalities of customs, immigration and baggage collection. The Real Asia DMC representative would be at your disposal at the exit of arrival terminal of the airport.

The representative will help in check-in at the hotel.

Day 02 – Bengaluru – Mysuru via Srirangapatna

 

Start with breakfast at the hotel and checkout for the drive to Mysuru.

Aptly termed as the City of Palaces, Mysuru is a place with rich cultural and historical heritage. It was among the three largest Princely States during the British rule in India. Mysuru is also listed as a World Heritage Site which draws many visitors from all over the world. The place is also famous for the origins of Ashtanga Yoga and you could find different renowned schools for Yoga here. The city also provides a clear picture of south Indian tradition and the lives of locals in the bazaar district.

Day 03 – Mysuru

 

Finish up with breakfast at hotel. Start for a tour of the city of Mysuru.

The first destination in the tour is Chamundi Hill & Bull Temple. This place signifies the spiritual vibe of Karnataka. Then, move towards Somnathpur by driving. Somnathpur is renowned for the Chennakesava Temple which is the oldest remaining Hoysala monuments.

After driving back to Mysuru city, visit one of the renowned tourist places in south India,i.e. the Mysuru Maharaja Palace. The monument served as the main residence for the kings of the Wodeyar dynasty. The building was renovated after being damaged in a fire in 1897 and got its present look in 1912. The palace is commendable for its beautiful paintings, stained glass windows,and architecture.

The tour finishes with a visit to Jaganmohan Palace and Art Gallery. It was built in 1869 and was used by the Wodeyar dynasty as the main residence when the Mysuru Maharaja Palace was damaged in a fire accident. The palace was turned into an art gallery in 1915. You can take a glimpse at nearly 2000 paintings of various renowned Indian artists.

Day 04 – Mysuru – Hassan

Head out on a drive to Hassan for a tour of Belur and Halebidu temples. These temples are also renowned examples of Hoysala architecture.

Day 05 – Hassan – Hampi

 

After breakfast at the hotel, complete checkout and start on the drive to Hampi.

Stop on the way for a tour of the Chitradurga Fort. Explore the magnificence of the fort on your own without a guide.

Day 06 – Hampi

 

Start the day with breakfast at the hotel.

The day would have a tour of Hampi ruins.

The city of ruins, Hampi, is a known addition to many Karnataka tour packages from Bengaluru. The place is surrounded by ancient monuments, bastions and memorable remains of the Vijayanagar Empire. The city is surrounded by many boulders,and you can climb on to them for looking at the city and its geography in entirety.

The noticeable place to visit here is the Virupaksha Temple that is dedicated to the patron deity of the Vijayanagar Empire. The tour of Hampi would include places such as the Vittala temple, Ganesha temple, Hazara Rama temple, Lakshmi Narasimha temple, Sunset point at the Hemakuta temple, Krishna temple complex, Queen’s Bath, Royal Enclosure and the Lotus Mahal. The Museum is also on the itinerary provided it is not a Friday.

Day 07 – Hampi – Badami Excursion – Hampi

 

Start with breakfast at the hotel.

Badami was known as the royal capital of the Chalukyas. It houses many appealing sites with Dravidian architecture which significantly draws on elements of the south and north Indian styles of architecture. Badami is situated in a valley of rugged red sandstone and is famous for its rock-cut cave temples, carvings,and fortresses. The backstreets of Badami are a treat for the eyes with glimpses of the Chalukyan ruins, old houses and wooden doorways with beautiful carvings.

Move ahead to visit Aihole, Pattadakal,and Badami Caves

Aihole is known as the temple complex of Karnataka. You can find almost 125 Chalukyan temples in this city. The architecture noted in the temples was popular during the 6th century AD under the reign of Badami Chalukyas. The main places to visit here are the Lad Khan temple, Gowda temple, Durga temple, Huchimalli temple, Meganagudi temple, Huchappayyagudi temple and the Gowda Temple.

A tiny village located near Badami, Pattadakal is a symbol of fusion in architecture. This place has ten splendid stone temples built around the 7th and 8th century among which one is a Jain temple. The attractions in Pattadakal are the Sangameshwara temple, Jain temple, Galaganath temple and the Papanatha temple.

The day would end with a visit to the Badami Caves. The main attractions in Badami caves are the four separate temples which have unique carvings and house many beautiful sculptures. The temples signify Chalukyan architecture with an interior hall, columned verandah and a shrine in the rear portion. The carvings in the first three temples show Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu in their different incarnations or ‘avatars.’ Another temple is dedicated to the Jain Tirthankaras.

Return to Hampi by driving for an overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 08 – Hampi –Vidyanagar Airport

 

Check out of the hotel after finishing breakfast.

The Real Asia DMC representative will assist in transfer to Vidyanagar Airport to travel to Bengaluru for the return flight back home.
